Green Card

A green card is the name given to a wallet-sized card showing that the person is a lawful permanent resident (immigrant) in the U.S.  Sometimes a green card is referred to as a permanent resident card (PRC).  It is called a green card because at one time the card was actually green in color.  It is no longer green.

To obtain an employment based permanent residency, there are three steps

  • Labor certification (PERM) filed with the Department of Labor
  • Visa Petition (Form I-140 filed with the USCIS
  • Application for Permanent Residence, Form I-485 filed with the USCIS if in the United States -otherwise processed at US consulate overseas.

We can assist you in reviewing eligibility and designing the best path for obtaining permanent residence through employment based sponsorship. Contact us to arrange a consultation!
